Summer poem

Summer
By Caitlin Connor

The feeling of the warm summer breeze on your skin
& the sun beating on your back
From the smell of bonfires & barbeques
To playing tag in the pitch black
The thrill of chasing the ice cream truck
And the satisfaction of getting a snack
The feeling of a belly flop
Leaving the sound of a smack
Knowing that the school year is near
Wanting not to slack
Summer nights soon coming to an end
Not wanting to go back
